Andor boss Tony Gilroy has claimed that he was unaware of how many Star Wars Easter eggs there are in his acclaimed show.

The TV creator said that it was only when fans started analysing the episodes once they were released on Disney+ that he realised the sheer amount of Easter eggs that are littered throughout the series. Specifically, the exciting contents of Luthen's gallery seemed to go over his head.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gilroy said: "Mohen Leo, our visual effects supervisor who was on [Rogue One: A Star Wars Story] as well, is a huge part of our show and a really important feature on our show. Mohen and his team know everything. We have a lot of people around the show that are really deep."

"So if we have a question, we ask it, but it's kind of an organic system, really. Every now and then, they sneak shit in there that even I didn't know. I was reading online about the antiquities in Luthen's gallery, and the provenance of some of those antiquities was news to me," Gilroy said.

He continued: "So it was fantastic that the art department snuck those things in there, but by and large, it's a collaborative, organic, rolling process."

Luthen's gallery features a number of notable objects from the Star Wars universe that the fans instantly recognised. Amongst the objects is a set of Mandalorian armour, Jedi and Sith holocrons, an Indiana Jones Easter egg and a Twi'lek Kalikori, which is a special heirloom passed down through Twi'lek families. This object was featured in the animated show Rebels.

Andor is streaming on Disney+, with new episode premieres on Wednesdays.
