Star Wars offers big update on Mandalorian spin-off Ahsoka show

The series has taken a big step forward.

Star Wars' live-action Ahsoka show has been given a big update, with work on the series now officially underway.

The show is set to see Rosario Dawson reprise her role as Jedi Ahsoka Tano from The Mandalorian, having brought the iconic animated character to live action for the first time.

Studio Industrial Light & Magic has now confirmed that filming is underway on the spin-off, sharing a picture of a chair with the series' title and writer Dave Filoni's hat hanging off it.

"#Ahsoka, an Original series, starts production today," the studio said on social media on Monday (May 9).

The next big Star Wars show set to hit Disney+ is Obi-Wan Kenobi, which is due to premiere later this month and will see Ewan McGregor reprise his role as the Jedi Master alongside Christensen as Darth Vader.
