The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special spoilers follow.
Guardians of the Galaxy fans are convinced that Star Wars legend Mark Hamill has appeared in the Holiday Special.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe special, which is available to watch on Disney+, follows the gang as they celebrate the festive season whilst attempting to find a gift for Star-Lord (Chris Pratt).

It wasn't the narrative that got some fans talking, however, with eagle-eyed viewers drawing attention to a character who is seen drinking by himself; their theory posits that the character is played by Hamill, who starred as Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy.
"They tried to sneak in Mark Hamill like we wouldn't notice," wrote one user on Twitter, whilst another posted: "I did say Mark Hamill was in the GOTG Holiday Special right?" Another fan wrote: "Mark Hamill had a small cameo in the Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special!!! they really put this in there thinking we wouldn't notice…"
Hamill's son, Nathan, seemingly dispelled the rumours however by tweeting: "That's not Mark Hamill", but Mark kept the rumour mill turning by responding: "It's not?"

The special is written and directed by James Gunn, who recently became the co-chair and co-CEO of DC Studios. His new role throws his future with Marvel up in the air, with his next project, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, due to be released next year.
Speaking about his roles with both major superhero studios, Gunn revealed the third entry in the Guardians franchise would be his last work with Marvel – at least for a while: "I mean, never say never. Who knows? But for the time being, yeah [it's my last Marvel film]."
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is streaming on Disney+. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 arrives on May 5, 2023.
