Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny director James Mangold has responded to reports that he is being lined up to helm a Swamp Thing movie.
Earlier this week, new DC bosses James Gunn and Petr Safran unveiled their slate for the DC Universe, with a Swamp Thing adaptation among the films being announced.
While Mangold's involvement wasn't confirmed, The Hollywood Reporter has since reported that he is in early talks to direct the movie.

In response, the director tweeted a picture of Swamp Thing, which has since been retweeted by Gunn – suggesting that the reports are true.
Swamp Thing first appeared in the early 1970s, and is a swamp monster known for protecting his swamp home and the environment in general from supernatural and terrorist threats.
The character appeared in a number of movies in the 1980s, and was most recently given his own TV series in the short-lived DC Universe show Swamp Thing, which saw Derek Mears play the character.

As part of this week's DC announcements, Gunn and Safran also unveiled movie Superman: Legacy, which will focus on the superhero "balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing", as well as Batman movie The Brave and the Bold.
There will also be The Authority, which is based on the superhero team from the late 1990s, and new Supergirl movie Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Also announced was a Batman sequel for Robert Pattinson's Caped Crusader, which takes place on a separate timeline called DC Elseworlds.
A number of TV series were confirmed as well, including Creature Commandos, Peacemaker spin-off Waller, Lanterns, Paradise Lost and Booster Gold.
Swamp Thing is yet to confirm a release date.
