New DC Universe bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran have opened up about Jason Momoa's future as Aquaman.
The new co-CEO of DC Studios has just announced a slate of TV and film projects designed to reboot the DC Universe, although there will be connective tissue with the likes of Shazam, Peacemaker and Momoa's Aquaman.
As Momoa has already filmed a sequel to Aquaman ahead of its release later this year, Gunn and Safran hinted to Deadline that there may be more of the actor in his vision for the DCU.
"Jason always saw Aquaman as a trilogy," Safran said.

However, Gunn was quick to nix some rumours that Momoa could follow-up Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom by taking on a new DC role as the intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo.
"I will say we won’t have an actor playing two different roles," the co-CEO clarified.
Momoa seemed equally as excited about his DC Universe future following a meeting with Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran earlier this month.
"We have a special relationship… I wish I could say more. I'll always be Aquaman, and there's a lot of evolution for that. So I'm not going anywhere, and it's very exciting," the actor said.
Other projects announced for the first phase of Gunn and Safran's new DCU — called the 'Gods and Monsters' chapter — include a Superman: Legacy reboot project, a Brave and the Bold movie featuring Batman and Damian Wayne, plus Swamp Thing, The Authority, and multiple TV tie-in shows.
Gunn has confirmed that there are other projects in the works for his first chapter of the DC set to branch out over the next eight to ten years.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom currently has a release date of December 25 in the US and December 29 in the UK.
