Worlds of DC boss James Gunn has addressed the rumours that Gal Gadot has departed from the role of Wonder Woman.
Since Gunn’s appointment as co-CEO of DC Studios, there has been a sizable number of changes at the company. Henry Cavill left the role of Superman earlier this month, while Patty Jenkins’ vision for a third Wonder Woman film was turned down by Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran.
This has led to rumours that Gadot wouldn’t be returning to the role as the hero, but Gunn has offered his side to the story – though he didn’t confirm if Gadot would continue playing Diana Prince.

In a post on Instagram, Gunn referenced the backlash that he and Safran had faced since news of the changes at DC were made, with one fan saying they had “booted” both Cavill and Gadot from their respective franchises.
Gunn, whose next film will be Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3, responded by denying the notion that they had fired her, saying: “I'm not sure where you're getting that we 'booted' Gal.” Though it clears up one side of the debate, fans were quick to assume that it could mean that Gadot had left the role of her own accord.
Jenkins, who directed both Wonder Woman and its sequel, recently denied that she had walked away from the third Wonder Woman film, saying: “I never walked away. I was open to considering anything asked of me.

“It was my understanding there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now.”
In reference to the overhaul at the company, Gunn recently said: “We know we are not going to make every single person happy every step of the way, but we can promise everything we do is done in the service of the story & in the service of the DC characters we know you cherish and we have cherished our whole lives.”
Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984 are now available to rent or buy on streaming on Prime Video.
