The Suicide Squad and Euphoria actor Storm Reid's new thriller Missing has released a brand new trailer.
The film, which is a sequel to the Searching franchise, is a "thrilling roller-coaster mystery that makes you wonder how well you know those closest to you", according to the synopsis.
The film sees June's (played by Storm Reid) mother (played by Nia Long) go missing while on vacation in Colombia with her new boyfriend. June then begins searching for answers but is hindered by international red tape.

"Stuck thousands of miles away in Los Angeles, June creatively uses all the latest technology at her fingertips to try and find her before it’s too late. But as she digs deeper, her digital sleuthing raises more questions than answers. And when June unravels secrets about her mom, she discovers that she never really knew her at all," the synopsis reads.
The trailer is almost exclusively footage as seen through the eyes of different social media platforms and a laptop screen, with scenes designed to look like they're on FaceTime, TikTok and Google.
It shows how June's mom goes on the Colombia trip but never returns, and the police are unable to help June on her quest because they don't have jurisdiction in that country.
June tries calling the hotel to understand where her mother was, only to realise they don't speak English. We then see her enlist the help of a local person who also speaks English to try to understand where her mother went.

At one point in the trailer we see that June's mother’s boyfriend might have been behind all this, as when June hacks into his email account, she finds a list of blocked users who all call him by different names, demanding that he return their money back to them.
But then we realise June's mother might be hiding secrets of her own, all of this culminating into the final part of the trailer, where we see someone show up on June's door unannounced, before the screen cuts to the title.
Alongside Long and Reid, the film also stars Joaquim de Almeida, Ken Leung, Amy Landecker and Daniel Henney.
Missing releases in cinemas in the UK on February 24, 2023.
