The Suicide Squad director James Gunn is working on a secret DC movie, according to reports.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the brain behind Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and DC’s Peacemaker is in talks with Warner Bros executives to work on a mystery project.
The company is yet to comment on the rumours, but any such project would likely come after Gunn has completed his work on the second season of Peacemaker. He is currently slated to write and direct all episodes.

The director, who recently married Jennifer Holland, is also attached to produce another spinoff to The Suicide Squad, with the currently untitled series focusing on a character from the 2021 superhero film.
His next feature will be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is scheduled to release next year. He was previously fired by Disney following the resurfacing of old posts on Twitter, but he was reinstated a month later following fan demand.
He recently gave an update on the film, which he described as having a “heavier” story, saying: “I think that I'm really happy. I gave a bunch of scenes to Marvel right before Christmas break. [Marvel boss] Kevin [Feige] went... They were all really, really, really stoked.

“But also, it's not going to be the movie people... It's different from what people are going to expect. It's a hard road, but I'm really happy with it so far.”
Owing to his position of having worked in both the Marvel and DC universes, Gunn also revealed he had spoken to executives about a potential crossover film between the two studios.
“I’ve casually talked to the powers-that-be at both Marvel & DC about it. I would love for it to happen,” he said. “I don’t think it’s likely, but I don’t think it’s an impossibility either. That said, just constantly seeing crossovers & mashups is less enchanting to me than a strong story.”
The Suicide Squad is out now on DVD and Blu-ray. Peacemaker season 1 is streaming on HBO Max in the US and airs on Sky and NOW in the UK.
