As The Boys is set to premiere its third season on Amazon Prime Video on June 3, the show has released the trailer for its in-series superhero film, showing some love and respect to Zack Snyder.
The trailer in question is for Dawn of the Seven: The Bourke Cut, and it is clearly parodying Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder's Justice League. It's a great trailer and brilliantly funny how they were able to get the feel and tone of the filmmaker.

If you think the Army of the Dead director was bothered by this, you'd be mistaken, as he showed his sense of humour with a very fitting response.
"Congratulations to Director Bourke. Excited to see your vision realized," he said in a tweet.
It's great to see Snyder having fun with these parodies as the filmmaker was put through the wringer for years to get his version of the DC superhero team-up made and released, with fans petitioning for five years to make this happen.
The Boys creator Eric Kripke had a sweary, NSFW reply to the Man of Steel director's tweet, and PJ Byrne, who plays Adam Bourke, called Snyder "THE GOAT".
The Boys cast got involved with Homelander himself, with Antony Starr replying: "Bourke deserves this moment. His vision is truly something. Else."

To Amazon Prime Video's credit, it's really taken this ball and ran with it by releasing official posters for Dawn of the Seven: The Bourke Cut. Plus, an official website with a synopsis, character posters and quotes from fake critics.
All of this comes off the heels of a very NSFW trailer for the third season, with Homelander telling us: "I'm very excited for everyone to meet the real me."
The Boys seasons 1 and 2 are available to watch in full on Amazon Prime Video. Season 3 will premiere on June 3.
