EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders has hinted at a new romance storyline for Chelsea Fox.

In scenes airing next week, Chelsea invites a wayward Keanu to Peggy's, with the intention of getting him a permanent job there.

Later on, a drunken customer gets aggressive with Sam and Chelsea, but Keanu swoops in to save the day.

Could his actions convince Sam to give him the job – and could they also lead to a spark between Keanu and Chelsea?

The storyline comes after fans of the soap suspected that Chelsea and Jack Branning might revisit their own romance, following their brief relationship 12 years ago.

Although Jack is now in a relationship with Chelsea's mum Denise, the theories began circulating last year, after Sam suggested to Denise that Jack and Chelsea were getting closer again.

Although Denise dismissed Sam's suggestion, executive producer Chris Clenshaw addressed the speculation – and he didn't rule out the idea of a Chelsea-Jack-Denise love triangle in the future.

"Maybe – there is history between Jack and Chelsea, after all," he said. "I mean, Jack and Denise are in a very loving marriage, but they're about to go through a really testing time with their children – which could potentially create tension within their relationship.

"Theirs is an exciting family that we're really enjoying creating stories for."

After all, Denise and Jack's relationship will hit a low point next week when he fails to remember that it's Valentine's Day, and Amy steps in to plan a romantic evening for them instead.

As Denise gets ready for her evening with Jack, Ravi shows up to discuss the night before and express his growing desire for her.

Although Denise tries to suppress her own feelings for Ravi, she's left heartbroken when she finds out that it was Amy, not Jack, who planned the date.

Is an affair with Ravi on the horizon for Denise?

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
