Coronation Street star Todd Boyce reveals whether evil Stephen plans to kill Carla

"He has had enough."

Coronation Street actor Todd Boyce has divulged Stephen Reid's disturbing plan for Carla Barlow, as the two characters continue to clash on screen.

Recent scenes saw the Underworld boss ordering Stephen to work in the factory's packing department, to his disbelief, and so in retaliation he plans to spike her drinks with LSD in the hope that it'll force her out of the job.

"She has done the worst thing that anyone could really do to Stephen, she has made him look and feel small in front of other people," explained Boyce, whose character has already bumped off both Leo and Leo's dad Teddy.

"She had him working in packing when Dick Haversham came round and he was so humiliated. He really wants to harm her business and her reputation and he has no qualms about what he's planning to do."

As the hallucinating Carla spirals out of control, Stephen twists the situation in his favour by suggesting that her psychosis is back with a vengeance.

"Sarah brought it up in the pub and it drops like a bombshell as far as he is concerned, and because of the way she has humiliated him he knows that he can use it for his own gain.

"This is not a premeditated plan to kill someone, this is to get her out of the way of the business," Boyce pointed out.

"He knows there are the 50 centers with shares in the company and he just needs to mobilise them and make them think she is not capable of doing the job. It's pretty ingenious and she has annoyed him so much that he doesn't actually care what it is going to do to her.

"It is a relatively short-term plan to start with just to sow the seed of doubt with everyone. He plans to do it over a period of time so it looks like she is having real problems."

What Stephen doesn't truly appreciate is the effect LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) can have on an individual, which could spell real trouble for Carla going forward.

"He is playing a very dangerous game," his portrayer teased.

"You see him putting a few drops into her drink and then he just slips a bit more in for good luck when he thinks about how angry he is with her."
