EastEnders' Lola learns the truth about Emma's identity

A long-awaited reunion.

Lola Pearce-Brown has finally discovered that newcomer Emma is her long-lost mother in EastEnders.

Lola was left worried that someone watching her vlog had found out her address last week when she got a grand in cash in the post. In reality, her long-lost mum Emma had secretly sent her the cash.

Emma had been moonlighting in Walford, pretending to be a new salon client called 'Nicole' and befriending Lola without revealing her true intentions.

In Monday's episode, Lola was also called to Lexi's school to answer for a mysterious adult threatening bully Maisie last week. Emma had secretly confronted the schoolgirl to warn her off bothering Lexi.

The whole situation sent Lola into a spiral as she initially wrongly assumed Sam Mitchell had been the one to confront Maisie. Lola also questioned whether her vlogs were putting her family in danger.

When 'Nicole' turned up later for a nail appointment at the salon, she told Lola a story about how proud she was of seeing the woman her daughter has become.

Lola slowly started to realise that 'Nicole' was actually speaking about her when she was offered a massive tip, bringing to mind the money through the postbox last week.

"I just wanted to help in tough times," Emma explained, using the same phrasing as the note left in Lola's post.

Lola demanded to know: "Why do you keep trying to throw money at me? What is this? What do you want?"

As Kim and Lola demanded Emma leave the salon, Billy walked in with Jay and realised the truth of the situation. When Billy outed that her name wasn't really "Nicole", Lola chased Emma out to the street for answers.

"You're my mum," she realised.
