Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has revealed that Sarah Sugden's latest 'health scare' was a ruse as she has left the village with friend Chloe Harris.

While it's not known yet if the characters have gone for good, Thursday's (February 9) episode revealed the lengths Sarah was willing to go to stop Mackenzie from telling Charity he fathered Chloe's baby.

This all came about as Mack had promised Chloe he was finally going to come clean to Charity about their situation, not knowing that Sarah overheard the entire conversation.

Sarah had earlier suspected Mack may be the mysterious father of Chloe's child, but her friend insisted that wasn't the case at the time.

Still unaware they'd been discovered, Mack warned Chloe to leave while she still could as Charity was bound to be furious once she learned the truth.

Chloe refused to back down, admitting to Mack she had nowhere she could go anyway. When it came time for Mack's revelation, Sarah rushed in to claim she was struggling to breath.

Sarah was rushed to hospital for hyperventilation, leading to awkward scenes as Mack comforted Charity as Chloe looked on.

Charity confided in Mack she was worried Sarah is running out of time, yet Sarah later confessed to Mack and Chloe that she'd faked the panic attack to stop them from confessing to Charity.

Sarah demanded Mack call off his plan, insisting instead she could arrange for her and Chloe to go live with mum Debbie in Scotland so they were out of the way. Mack was sceptical of the plan, only for Chloe to insist that Sarah was right and encourage him to keep their secret in order to support Charity.

Sarah broke the news she was leaving to Charity, explaining she'd been missing her mum. As the two girls prepared to leave the village, Mack was left feeling ashamed he wasn't able to tell Charity the truth.

Have we really seen the last of Sarah and Chloe?
