After airing what was thought to be its final ever episode earlier this year, Neighbours is coming back to our screens in 2023, but this time it will have the streaming home of Amazon Freevee.
While we hope to see many of the old faces from 2022 back on Ramsay Street when they reopen for visitors, so far only four cast members have been confirmed.
Ryan Moloney (Toadie), Alan Fletcher (Karl), Jackie Woodburne (Susan), and Stefan Dennis (Paul) are the definite returnees, and Ryan has been talking to TV Week about the surprising reprieve and what he thinks Neighbours will be like when it does come back.

''It's crazy!'' Ryan said when discussing how unlikely an outcome it is for him to be playing Toadfish Rebecchi again. “It's like you've risen from the dead and here we are. This is the last thing I expected to be doing.''
Fans have many questions about what the state of play will be with the residents of Erinsborough when we do see them again, not least how much time will have passed from the finale that was built around Toadie’s wedding to Lucinda Cowden’s Melanie.
“We actually don't know whether the show is picking up from that day or from a couple of years down the line,” he revealed.

As for any changes on the way, Moloney admits that now is the time to make them. ''This is a do-over. It's a chance to do things differently. We're lucky we get this opportunity.''
Of course, this is not the first time that Neighbours was thought to be done and dusted. The show only lasted one year in Australia when it first started, only to be cancelled with the cast and crew thinking that was the end.
Once production had ended, Network 10 picked the soap up and the cast and crew reassembled for the revamped version – so this situation is both unprecedented and yet familiar for Neighbours.
Neighbours returns in the second half of 2023 with new episodes streaming free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. Network 10 will retain first-run rights in Australia for the new series.
