Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has made some very candid comments about the most recent series.

In December, Hamza Yassin and professional partner Jowita Przystał won the Glitterball Trophy over Helen Skelton and Gorka Márquez, Fleur East and Vito Coppola, and Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu in a competitive finale.

During an appearance on Magic Radio, the dance judge revealed to Ronan Keating and Harriet Scott that he would have predicted a different outcome of the finale.

"Fleur, can I say this on Magic darling, she was robbed, there you go that’s just me," he said. "I mean I absolutely love Fleur… For me, in the final anyone could have won. I think Hamza did an absolutely spectacular job and he had all the audience behind him, which is really important as well.

"But I thought Fleur really came out of her shell and she was absolutely extraordinary. And I’m not just saying that!"

Craig added that he has respect for Fleur since she repeatedly worked herself out of the "dance gutter" when she survived dance-offs.

The judge said he's excited to see Fleur back on the dancefloor for the Strictly Come Dancing live tour, adding: "She’s doing her Destiny’s Child track, which I absolutely adore. That’s one of my favourite favourite routines… She is spectacular.”

Craig continues as the most outspoken and controversial Strictly Come Dancing judge, having memorably clashed with contestant Tyler West over his harsh critiques last season.

Strictly Come Dancing's returns on Christmas Day (December 27) on BBC One, while spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two will air on weeknights next year on BBC Two. Both shows also stream on BBC iPlayer.
