April Windsor will fear for Marlon in Emmerdale after Paddy's disappearance.

Paddy made an unexpected exit from the village this week as a part of a mental health storyline that will see him contemplate suicide in upcoming weeks.

His best mate Marlon has recently been struggling with his recovery from a stroke, leading Dr Liam Cavanagh to gently warn him stress is impacting his mobility and speech.

Even though Marlon is determined to push through and find Paddy, he suffers a fall at home and is encouraged by his family to rest.

Marlon continues to face stress in upcoming scenes when he receives a text message about organising a search party for Paddy. Marlon naturally wants to be involved, though his daughter April worries.

Marlon stands up to join the search party, only for a distraught April to beg him to leave the search to other members of the family so he doesn't face any further setbacks.

April grows so concerned that she puts together a potentially risky plan to keep Marlon safe. Producer Laura Shaw and her team are working on Paddy's mental health storyline with suicide prevention groups Samaritans and Andy’s Man Club.

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley credited the show with exploring an important issue like male mental health since many watching will likely relate to Paddy's struggles.

"Men don't want to talk, and so we're working with Samaritans and we've been working with Andy's Men Club, and together they've advised us," RIley said.

"It is a slow-burner because we want to tell the story properly, but just for other people out there who have had a friend like Mandy who is gonna be very worried."
