The most-watched TV programmes of the year in the UK have been revealed, with the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II topping the list.
As reported by Deadline, the broadcast peaked at 29 million as people tuned in across several channels to pay respects to the late monarch as she was laid to rest at Westminster Abbey. In addition, it was watched by 37.5 million people for at least three minutes.
Trailing behind was the opening episode for the latest series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, which secured 11.9 million viewers on November 6. After two years in Wales due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the show’s eagerly anticipated return to Australia proved to be a hit, with former footballer Jill Scott being crowned Queen of the Jungle.
